The Landscape Institute held a ‘digital practice in design, planning and management’ CPD day on Tuesday 20th March 2018 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London. The day consisted of digital training, learning and discussions with leading experts in AR, VR, BIM, GIS, game tech and data protection.

Hardscape was a proud sponsor of the event and Mathew Haslam gave an insightful CPD on the digital journey for designers engaging with hard landscaping materials in the design and manufacturing processes including artscape.

It was an opportunity to reveal a manufacturer’s perspective on the digital tools available to landscape professionals on their journey from project brief to finished scheme. Hardscape was able to show how the digital story unfolds at each stage, with examples of the processes, design tools, and case studies of completed projects.

Following the seminars, there was a networking and drinks reception with the opportunity to meet LI President-Elect, Adam White, who gave a brief insight into some of the exciting news and events coming up with the Landscape Institute. Mathew also spoke about Hardscape’s plans to support the LI members, by taking a collaborative approach and sharing expertise. The LI’s Head of Business Development, Rachel Smith, spoke about regional engagement plans and updates for the coming year. This included:

  • Our #chooselandscape careers campaign
  • Engaging employers & the public sector
  • Being more inclusive & relevant for the future
  • Preview of recent research findings on talent for the landscape profession
