Material Standards

Hardscape have in place a continuous regime of material testing and are constantly updating their product range of materials in accordance with the relevant British and European Standards of which the latest suite of Product Testing is in line with CE conformity.

We fully understand the need for customer confidence in supplying materials to all project types and the requirements of total transparency based upon our reputation gained after decades of supply inspiration.

Laying Standards

As part of the ongoing design and specification process Hardscape pride themselves on working closely with all parties to attend to project-specific installation. Using the relevant British Standard suite (BS 7533) Hardscape can recommend, in conjunction with project engineers/designers, the correct construction and laying detail for all their supplied materials. This includes site assessment for design purposes i.e. unbound, bound, permeable, commercial traffic assessment, pavement construction thickness and preferred laying patterns/bonds where necessary.

Please note: All recommendations are just that and will need to be agreed and/or confirmed by the project engineers.

Product Test Data

When choosing a material for a project, Hardscape can offer guidance to the designer, architect, engineer or developer to select which acceptance criteria is appropriate for each material type based on proposed class of use. Once a material has been selected on it’s aesthetic appearance it is important to determine whether it exhibits the necessary physical properties and durability characteristics to achieve in-service design life performance through a project specific designed test programme.

Hardscape have tested many of its available products via UKAS-accredited laboratories and can offer specific and relevant summary data sheet on characteristics such as water absorption, abrasion resistance, flexural strength, frost resistance, slip resistance and petrographic examination.
