Universe Up

Escofet street furniture utilises design to transform cities and promote the use of public space, with ranges that address simple, practical needs, through to stunning pieces that move beyond function and into sculptural centrepieces.

The Universe collection represents the purity of visual language in the traditional wood slat bench. On one hand, Universe Up has three seating and resting elements: bench, chair and chaise-lounge, in addition to the backless picnic bench and table. On the other, the Universe Acc accessories complement the collection of concrete benches from Escofet, providing for more comfortable uses in the public space.

Universe Up came out of a series review to become a separate element from the accessory with the same name, manufactured by Escofet since 2017. It retains the cross-section in both the slats and the support bars, and it can be installed in two ways for projects that require both typologies.

The diverse Universe family provides visual lightness and various seating forms for having a rest in the city. Formally speaking, it marks a return to a traditional bench archetype, but using the Universe language. The chair and bench have armrests that blend naturally into the urban landscape of our cities. The chaise-lounge provides the user with longer, more comfortable armrests, while the picnic set allows for round-the-table seating for a bite, a game or a chat.

The structure of the machined steel plate supports, zinc-plated and with a silver textured, painted finish. Stainless steel also available. The seats are made from FSC® certified tropic wood boards, and they are supplied with or without a back and in two lengths.
