Now in its ninth year, Cycle to Work Day is the UK’s favourite one-day commuting event. The idea is simple – to celebrate everyday cycling!
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a new, existing or returning cyclist, Cycle to Work Day is an opportunity to get in the saddle and experience a host of benefits. From boosting wellbeing to better health and improved finances; cycling offers it all.
For 2021, the event is taking inspiration from our Dutch friends and encouraging employees to cycle in whatever gear they’re in. In the Netherlands, locals have a relaxed attitude when it comes to riding wearing clothes that they feel are appropriate, rather than relying only on specific gear and gadgets. This helps normalise cycling and is one of the reasons why it’s such a popular mode of transport. This Cycle to Work Day, employees are encouraged to try travelling by bike on for size, whatever gear they’re in.
