Registration is now open for the 2015 Landscape Institute Awards. There are 14 categories of awards, including a new category ‘Design for a Temporary Landscape’, which has been created in response to the increasing number of temporary/meanwhile use projects that LI members are undertaking. There is also a new special award, which is free to enter, for ‘Client of the Year’. The award gives the opportunity for the profession to formally recognise clients who understand and value the contribution of landscape architects to their projects, and support them to fulfil their vision without compromise. The other categories are: Design categories for Small-, Medium- and Large-Scale projects; Science, Management & Stewardship; Heritage & Conservation; Adding Value through Landscape; Local Landscape Planning; Landscape Policy & Research; Communications and Presentation; Strategic Landscape Planning; Urban Design and Masterplanning. There are also two student categories, Student Dissertation and Student Portfolio. Members making submissions in the professional categories can also put their projects forward for the Fellows’ Award for Climate Change Adaptation. This category is free to enter and the the College of Fellows will make the award to the project or initiative that best demonstrates a significant response to the challenges of climate change. The deadline for registration is 30 April for professional categories ( there is no deadline for registering to enter student categories) and it costs £150 +VAT per entry. Student categories, the Fellows’ Award and ‘Client of the Year’ are free to enter.
