Hardscape was extremely proud to once again be the Headline Sponsor of such a prestigious event in the Landscape industry’s calendar. Announced on Friday 3rd November, 2023’s award winners highlighted landscape’s power to transform the world for the better; retrofitting public green space, reimagining public realm, revitalising high streets, and building resilience and sustainability into our cities and spaces.

It was great to be back at The Brewery, Chiswell Street in London after a 5 year gap with the ceremony finding another home at The Troxy on Commercial Road, London and also online during the pandemic. There were over 150 entries this year across 17 categories. The judges were thrilled once again with the standard of entries for 2023!

Presented by Justin Rowlatt, BBC Climate Editor and journalist, the LI Awards are all about celebrating people, place and nature, and the myriad ways that landscape projects can connect them whilst commemorating spaces that people can be truly proud of.

Anthony Collins, Hardscape’s, Sales Director, gave a compelling Headline Sponsors speech:

Anthony Collins, Sales Director at Hardscape, said: “Having attended and supported many awards over the years, it is the LI Awards that stand out as a presentation of great collaboration and skills, in particular this year celebrating their 30-year anniversary!

As Hardscape approach their own 30-year anniversary in 2024 we’re so proud and honoured to be Headline Sponsors once again. This special event is a testament to the remarkable talent, dedication, and vision of the individuals and teams who have worked tirelessly to shape our environment, turning dreams of sustainable, beautiful landscapes into a vibrant reality.”

Hardscape were also proud category sponsors of the Landscape Legacy Award and Alex Warren, our Managing Director was on hand to announce the Winners of this category as MVGLA landscape architects.

The judges said “Marc has gone above and beyond the duties of a regular practitioner and made a significant contribution to the urgent need to transition to renewable energy.”

We were once again additionally proud to have made the Awards Trophies this year at our production facility: IP Surfaces Ltd, in the North West. Hardscape aspire to not only provide optimum paving solutions but align their materials and processes as close to the global zero carbon ambition as possible with innovation and expertise at the very core of their business ethos.

IP Surfaces used waterjet and sandblasting processes for the award title and other specific details utilising some surplus natural Dietfurt limestone that had been made available from a recent local project.

The Landscape Institute Awards celebrate every year the value of landscape practice in connecting people, place and nature by demonstrating excellence, innovation and creativity in the natural and built environment – let’s look forward to an even more amazing Awards in 2024!

“It is a privilege to represent and celebrate our collective achievements, and while we still have work to do, with collaboration and determination, we can achieve so much more. I look forward to a new chapter to build a progressive and inclusive Institute.”
